Do You Think There Was Any Gambling Going On At Mussey's Billiard Hall?

Mussay's billiard hall, corner of Fourth and Olive streets, which was recently torn down, (in the spring of 1875) became the gratifying point for base ball news, arrangements having been made with the Western Union Telegraph Co. for a report of each half inning, which, on receipt, was displayed on a black board thereby rendering the place the most popular resort in the city. It was a new departure that took from the start and every one asked "Why it hadn't been done before?" Soon afterward the newspaper offices adopted the same method to the great delight of all classes, ages and sex.
