This box score from a Reds-White Stockings game that was played on May 25, 1875 was published in the St. Louis Globe-Democrat on May 27th of that year. My favorite part is the final sentence. After Chicago crushed the Reds 16-2, the Globe engaged in a bit of understatement when they wrote that "a better showing on the part of the Reds is looked for."
