A very large crowd witnessed the last championship game in St. Louis this year, which was played yesterday between the Boston and St. Louis Unions. The home team were treated to a coat of whitewash but, notwithstanding that fact, the game was one of the most interesting of the season, and from the opening to the closing innings, the spectators were demonstratively enthusiastic.-St. Louis Globe-Democrat, October 20, 1884
And that's that.
Finally, at long last, I can say I've gone through the Maroons' 1884 season and that I have all of their box scores. Hurray for me.
